I'm Doing #NaNoWriMo 2022!

Follow along with me for updates on my progress

If you’re a writer, you probably already know about NaNoWriMo, and you may also be participating in it. If not, NaNoWriMo stands for “National Novel Writing Month.” Started back in November 1999, the official goal is to write 50,000 words of a new novel in one month. It’s typically a month that many studious writers use to launch a new project or sometimes finish a shelved one.

Regular subscribers to my writing page may know I’ve been on a bit of an unofficial break for some time now. That’s largely due to my struggles with my ADHD, and #NaNoWriMo seemed like the perfect opportunity to jumpstart my creative brain. My personal goal isn’t the astounding 50,000 words (who has time for that if they have family, a job, or any kind of life??), but a more realistic goal. I pledge to write something every day of the month of November, no matter what. For this challenge, I chose to start a brand new work, the first four chapters of which will end up here after a bit of polishing.

Anyone who would like to keep up with my progress and help keep me accountable can follow me on the official NaNoWriMo website. I’ll be updating my word count progress there. Or follow me on Twitter where I’ll be posting about my writing journey in a more informal way. Regardless of the method, I’d love the encouragement and accountability from you wonderful folks.

Those of you who subscribed for the TTRPG content that I’m working on, just hang tight. I’m still in the editing phase of that and expect to launch it this month as well!
